A new module of the Xposed framework aims to transplant some of the best features of Android N to devices that can’t get the update.
Dubbed N-ify, the module which is still in beta stage, and, for now, it only offers two Android N features – Settings menu subtitles (the descriptions shown beneath the main categories in the Settings menu); and double-tap to switch to the last used app.
The N-ify developer MrWasdennnoch at
XDA Forums emphasis on plans to add a number of additional features to the module, including:
==>
Navigation drawer in Settings
==>
Use recents button to navigate through recents
==>
Doze mode even when device is moving
==>
Emergency info on lockscreen
==>
Night mode
==>
New notifications layout
The module has been confirmed working on devices running CyanogenMod 13 (Marshmallow-based) and in theory it should work on any ROM based on Lollipop or Marshmallow that doesn’t stray too far from stock Android. TouchWiz users may have a harder time with the module.
